On 16th of February, 2005, Br. Robin Daniel, the then Provincial Minister of St. Francis of Assisi Capuchin Province, Kerala, S. India, visits Ghana – a mission entrusted to the Province by the General Minister to develop and to implant the Order of friars Minor Capuchins- and he enters into an agreement with the Bishop of the Diocese of “Navrongo-Bolgatanga”, to send friars as animators of the Spiritual Renewal Centre of the Diocese. On 21st of May, 2008, Br. Irvin James was appointed as the first Provincial Delegate for Ghana. The first Capuchin Friary was built and blessed in Ghana in the Diocese of Jasikan by Bishop Gabriel A.A. Mante, the Bishop of Jasikan, on the 17th of May, 2009.

Our friars are also invited to the Diocese of Jasikan (another Diocese in Ghana) for the Missionary Activities and eventually a new mission was opened in the diocese of Jasikan, Ghana, on the 26th of September, 2008. Many friars ventured and did missionary activities at Ghana, at various times, including Br. Godfrey Pereira, Br. Ansen Antony, Br. Jospeh P.S., and now Br. Varghese alphonse, Br. Joseph Ambrose, Br. Cleetus, …..etc. On December 12th, 2011, two more friars (Br. Lawrence and Br. Isaac) also reached Ghana. Presently Br. Varghese Alphonse is the present and the second Provincial Delegate. Br. Henry Jacob is also expected to join and strengthen the Mission at Ghana. In 2013 Br. Roshy Robert OFM Cap. and Br. Joseph Ambrose join to Kpassa fraternity, Ghana
